We did it!
We bought our first house.
We close in 13 days.
Thrilling, scary, exciting, much needed.
"We" being me (Amy), DH (Casey), and little lady (K).
I am a not-yet-30 mommy, Jesus-lover, graphic designer, children's illustrator, Bachelor of Landscape Architecture graduate, former professional cheerleader, fitness instructor, half-marathon runner, mommy-group leader, domestic engineer (SAHM), interior designer wannabe, and bargain hunter/DIY'er. Since my life is so boring and empty, I've decided to start this blog.
Casey is a licensed Landscape Architect. We met in college and were in the same major. He's remarkable. I mean, the kind of guy that ABC would be casting on the Bachelor if he were single. But better. He's hot, y'all. And I'm not from Texas. We live in SoCal. He's a sports nut and plays and excels at everything he gets his hands on. Mostly, he loves surfing (bodyboarding to be specific).
Little Lady K is my firstborn. She's almost 20 months old now (whew, where did the time go?!) and the little thing is a SPITFIRE! She is absolutely beautiful, confident, outgoing, and fearless. In the few months past, she had started running laps around our tiny upstairs apartment's coffee table to get her energy out. Casey and I decided that we were busting at the seams and that it was time to get a house. After months of prayer and MLS obsessing, we wound up with this little number. Minus the dumpster. I'll save the story on how we ended up with it, but it wasn't even on the market and was totally a God thing. Love that.
"She's a BEAUT, Clark!" (we ARE the Griswolds, by the way.)
Why this one? 4 bedrooms. HUGE lot. I'm talking over a 1/4 acre guys! (For southern California- that is ENORMOUS). We are landscape architects by trade. The yard absolutely sold us! We can see it now...organic gardens, play area, outdoor rooms, avocado trees, water features....oh yeah baby.
For I know the plans I have for you, little home, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Yeah. You're going to be a showstopper. We move in 2 weeks. Time to get the workgloves on. Well, time to go buy them first. Ooh, maybe I can find some in pink....
I am hopeless. My poor husband.
